Remember that crazy road rage !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! a few days ago? Break has offered to buy the rights to it, and since I enjoy money, I’m gonna do it. They’ve given me two options for how to go about doing this:

OPTION 1) We can buy the video outright from you for $200, we will own all the rights to the video, but you can still keep the video on your channel, share it as much as you want, etc. You just cannot sell the rights off to anyone else.

OPTION 2) We can offer you an advance payment of $100, and we will 60/40 split future revenue from ads on YouTube and any licensing deals with television networks (or the like) Essentially, we will be doing the work in representing and promoting your clip, and you’ll be getting a 60% cut. You maintain ALL ownership to the video.

I’m definitely going with the second choice, unless for some reason you think the first is the way to go. They’re a popular channel, so there’s really no way it won’t make up the difference and more in ad revenue.

But anyway, yeah. My dashcam is paying for itself! Never would have imagined that could happen.

Ask for $200 and a 50/50 split of future revenue. Maybe they will offer $150 and 60/40.

You will have no idea if they accurately pay you out on any licensing, but at least you’ll still get more than $100
